Main criteria

1. UPS Topology (VFD, VI, VFI), modulated or sinus wave output in battery mode
2. Required power capacity in Watt
3. Autonomy time
4. Size and model type (i.e. rack mountable? Limited space?)
5. Outlets (IEC, Schuko, French, Terminal)

Load and Backup
To determine appropriate UPS power requirement consider the below.

• Sum the maximum power consumption of all loads
• Consider in-rush currents
• Consider characteristic of the load (inductive vs capacitve)
• Calculate efficiency drop of your loads if modulated wave output
• Consider safety margin

Other parameters to analyze

• Extension cards for additional communication SNMP, Modbus, AS400
• Selecting appropriate battery pack for expected autonomy time
• Human Interface Device USB protocol
