Every battery is strictily limited with maximum current that can be drained from it. The battery is protected with internal UPS breakers. Although very small loads might also be damaging for the battery in long-term.

When the UPS is installed specifically for small loads such as security camera or broadcasting devices which require long backup time at very small load, the small discharging current under battery mode may lead to deep discharge of battery and shorten the battery life. Models like VI T/HID can automatically detect such small loads to provide full-time back-up and in the meantime protect the battery from deep discharge problem.
